About Terry John Manwaring

A funeral for Terry J. Manwaring, 49, a Lewiston resident and retired Potlatch Corp. welder, will be 2 p.m. Tuesday Sept 3, 1996 at Vassar-Rawls Funeral Home at Lewiston. The Rev. Bill Kitchen of the Lewiston First Church of the Nazarene will officiate.

Following the service, a buffet for friends and family will be held at the home of Billie Wensman, 1707 16th St., Lewiston.

He died Thursday August 29, 1996 at St. Joseph Regional Medical Center at Lewiston of complications of kidney failure.

He was born June 27, 1947, to Russell W. and Doris J. Irwin Hass at Lewiston. He was later adopted by Glenn Manwaring. He attended schools in Lewiston, graduating from Lewiston High School in 1966. He graduated from Lewis-Clark State College at Lewiston in 1973.

He married Susan Branson June 21, 1969, at Nezperce. The marriage ended in divorce.

He married Mary Kay Kennedy Dec. 15, 1980, at Lewiston.

He went to work for Potlatch Corp. after graduating from high school and worked there until his retirement in 1994.

As a teen-ager, he was active in the Methodist Youth Foundation. He was a member of Boy Scout Troop No. 152, attaining the rank of life scout. As an adult, he remained active in the scouting program. He was an assistant scoutmaster with Troop 156 and served as scoutmaster of Troop 152. He was also active in Scouting's Order of the Arrow organization.

He was a member of the First United Methodist Church in Lewiston, the Lewis-Clark Moose Lodge No. 751, Local No. 712, United Paperworkers International Union, and a former member of the Lewiston Elks Lodge No. 896.

He enjoyed spending time with his family, arguing politics and current events, and writing letters to the Lewiston Morning Tribune. His hobbies included woodworking, fishing, counted cross stitch, ceramics and building model cars.

Survivors include his wife, Mary Kay Manwaring of Lewiston; his mother, Doris J. Manwaring, also of Lewiston; a son, Robert R. Manwaring of Twin Falls; a stepdaughter, Mary Katherine Hill of Lewiston; a stepson, Richard M. Kennedy of Lewiston; four sisters, Jaclyn D. McCullough of Nashville, Tenn., and Kathleen M. Steinwand, Billie R. Wensman and Jennifer G. Manwaring, all of Lewiston; a brother, Gary R. Manwaring of Lewiston; a paternal grandmother and stepgrandfather, Vie and Cliff Davis, both of Clarkston; a paternal stepgrandmother, Roberta Manwaring of Kendrick; and three stepgrandchildren.

His daughter, Marci Lynn Manwaring, died previously.
