About Tillie Karten
Came to the US with her mother, Rose, either in 1899 or 1900. They joined Samuel, who had come in 1897 or 1898, when Tessie was 2. Tessie's husband's naturalization application lists her birthplace as "Vilna, Russia."
The 1930 Census gives her age at marriage as 25 (with Isadore 21.) Presumably they were married in 1923. That is also the year Tessie's mother, Rose, died.
