A funeral service will be held at 1:30 p.m. today at Temple Shaare Tefilah in Norwood for Thelma (Finkelstein) Schrieber, 69, who died Saturday at Norwood Hospital.
Born in Boston, Mrs. Schrieber was co-owner of the Alice Ames Co. and active in Jewish organizations. She lived in Milton for about 40 years before moving to Norwood and, most recently, Walpole.
She and her husband co-owned the Alice Ames Co., formerly of Hyde Park, which distributed advertising specialties -- pens, calendars and pocket diaries -- to manufacturing and industrial companies. Mrs. Schrieber worked in management and sales promotion.
Mrs. Schrieber was a life member of the Hebrew Rehabilitation Center in West Roxbury, past president of the Milton Post 696 Jewish War Veterans Ladies Auxiliary and a life member and member of the board of directors of the Sisterhood of the Temple Shalom in Milton.
She was a recipient of the Light of Torah award from Temple Shaare Tefilah in Norwood.
She leaves her husband, Arnold L. of Walpole; two sons, Allan of Worcester and Louis of Norwood; a brother, Dr. Nisson Finkelstein of Wilmington, Del.; and five grandchildren.
Burial will be in Sharon Memorial Park in Sharon.
