Theodore Benedict Lyman (Nov. 27, 1815 – Dec. 13, 1893), was the fourth Bishop of the Episcopal Diocese of North Carolina.[1] He was born in Brighton, Massachusetts. Father of William Whittingham Lyman. Prior to serving as Bishop of North Carolina, the Reverend Lyman was Rector, Saint John's Church at Hagerstown, Maryland and a founder of Saint James School.
