OBITUARY for THEORUS BERNHEISEL

An extract of his obituary published in a Perry County newspaper:

"Theorus Bernheisel, prominent citizen of Loysville, died at his home in that village, Tuesday night at 12.30, of a liver condition and complications ... aged 74 years 7 months and 20 days. He was a son of John B. and Susan (Noll) Bernheisel and was born in Greenpark. By occupation he was a farmer, but retired twenty-two years ago and then took up his residence in Loysville. He was an active member of Lebanon Reformed Church and Sunday School, Loysville ... also a director of the First National Bank of Loysville since its organization in 1920.

Mr. Bernheisel was married three times. His first wife was Miss Carrie Good, of Donnally's Mills; second wife, Mrs. Jennie Kline, Loysville, R.D., and on the 20th of December 1917, he married Miss Florence Shumaker, of Loysville. They were married at the Reformed parsonage in Landisburg ... Surviving him are his wife and a sister, Mrs. Laura Flickinger, of Mt. Union, and two grandsons, John Bernheisel, near York, and James Bernheisel of Philadelphia. Four children, John, May, Bessie and Ralph are dead ... burial will be in the Reformed cemetery, Elliottsburg..."Page: 109
