He married widow Mary Setter (nee Lindsey) on 3 April 1846 at St. Mary, Lambeth, Surrey, England.[1]
Thomas was in the British Military, serving in the 4th Light Dragoons.
Thomas and Mary emigrated from England to New Zealand, along with his step daughter Sarah and possibly a biological daughter Mary Ann on the Ship Minerva. They left Gravesend, London, England on 1 July 1847, and arrived into Auckland on 8 October 1847. The ship carried the Fencibles 2nd Detachment under the command of Capt Charles HM Smith, 55 Regiment.[2]
His wife Mary left him for another man in 1849.
Thomas passed away in 1859 at the age of 57.
