About Thomas Bartlett, II
Thomas Bartlett was born in 1730 in Richmond County, Virginia (where his parents were living).
His mother was almost certainly Elizabeth. Elizabeth is in North Farnham Parish Records as mother of two older siblings. It appears his father, Thomas BARTLETT c1705, didn't second marry Catherine until after Thomas c1730 was born.
He married Anne [Unknown maiden name - NOT SETTLE] about 1752 in Virginia [perhaps in Richmond Co, VA] and they had 12 children (10 surviving), before Anne died in Fauquier Co, VA c1775.
He then married Sarah Carroll on January 2, 1777, in Virginia. Thomas and Sarah had at least 4 more children. Thomas died in 1806 in Virginia, having lived a long life of 76 years
Please do not connect this Thomas BARTLETT with any Thomas BARTLETT who purports to marry Anne SETTLE - there is documentation in his profile that it was his brother, John, who married Anne SETTLE. We must leave Anne's maiden name as unknown so we can continue to search for her true maiden name.
1770- John Bartlett married Anne Settle- Source: Marriages of the Northern Neck of Virginia, 1649-1800; Source is actually Will of Henry Settle who names daughter Anne BARTLETT and granddaughter Joanna BARTLETT. John Bartley (nee BARTLETT) of Culpeper and Fluvanna Co, VA had a wife named Anne and a daughter named Joanna BARTLEY who m c1780 Culpeper Co, VA William BRAGG. Another daughter, Elizabeth, m c1783 William BALLENGER and named a dau Nancy "Ann" Settle BALLENGER. Another daughter, Phoebe BARTLEY m Isham PARRISH and named a dau Nancy Ann Settle PARRISH.
Although Thomas BARTLETT provided aid during the RevWar, there is no evidence that he served - no evidence he was a Captain. There was a Captain Thomas BARTLETT from Spotsylvania Co, VA - completely different line -please do not conflate the two.

Thomas BARTLETT c1705-1783 of Richmond Co, VA left a will naming 5 sons: John, James, Joseph, Thomas and Elisha. We have matching DNA (unusual E1b) from descendants of all sons except James, which proves Thomas c1705 is father of Thomas 1730
