About Thomas Caroon Burke

Born Decmber 28 1853 Long Swamp. Baptised 1855. Lived and Worked On Bangaroo Station near Goologong and Canowindra from about 1867 To 1898. Bangaroo was First owned by Thomas Icely until about 1872 and then owned by Hamilton Osborne until about 1902. Thomas' father Patrick worked at Bangaroo as well. Thomas named his son Ronald Osborne after his employer Hamilton Osborne. Thomas Burkes mother is buried at Bangaroo, dying in 1873. Thomas married  Catherine O'Brien 1878 in Cowra. She was from Marulen. She was admitted to a mental asylum sometime before1900 where she stayed until her death in 1943 at Rydalmere.Thomas then partnered  Elizabeth Green from Canowindra arond 1900 onwards until his death in 1926.
