MEMORIAL PHOTOS 5 FLOWERS 5 Captain Thomas Coldwell is the husband of Philadelphia "Delphia" Ballard. Children are Benoni (1772-1837); Abiram Ballard Coldwell (1781-1855); Nancy Coldwell Bradley; John Coldwell Rachel Coldwell Kincheloe; Thomas Coldwell, and Polly Coldwell.
He is buried at 505 Williams Road, Surgoinsville, Hawkins County, Tennessee. (Grave is down the lane at this address in a clump of trees to the right of an old barn looking south towards the Holston River.)
According to Vonnie Cantrell, Thomas Coldwell fought at the Battle of King's Mountain. He is listed in "The Patriots at Kings Mountain" by Dr. Bobby Gilmer Moss on page 35 and his participation was documented by Francis Haney in S32292, his Application for Revolutionary Ward Pension. (Find A Grave Memorial No. 135863335). Vonnie cannot find that Thomas Coldwell ever applied for a pension.
