Thomas Cook was born in 1689 in Tiverton, Rhode Island.[1] His parents were John Cooke and Ruth Shaw.

He married Lydia Taylor on January 17, 1712

Together they had the following children:

Job Cook, b. 11 December 1716[4]
Elizabeth Cook, b. 22 July 1719[5]
Ann Cook, b. 9 April 1721[6]

Abigail Cook, b. 21 March 1725[8]
Jeremiah Cook, b. 13 March 1727[9]
Phebe Cook, b. 14 February 1729[10]
Hannah Cook, b. 14 September 1731[11]
He died in January 1779 in Tiverton, Rhode Island.

His will is dated 29 September 1760 with a codicil written on 30 January 1775 and proved on 1 February 1779 in Tiverton, Rhode Island.[12]

Research

If the death date of 1779 is correct, then Thomas should appear in the 1774 Census of Rhode Island. We find a Thomas Cook as head of household[13] with distribution
