About Thomas Dishington, of Ardross

Thomas Dishington of Ardross, son of Thomas Dishington of Ardross, who was a minor at his father's death, had a charter in 1579, and was served heir in 1582. He married Barbara Sandilands (who survived him, and was in 1606 wife of John Rutherford, minister of Kilconquhar), by whom he had Thomas, his heir \ Lawrence ; perhaps ' George in Kilconquhar ; ' and three daughters, of whom the second was Euphemia, and the youngest Elizabeth. He died before 1591.

Contract, dated at Edinburgh, 22nd July 1611 [recorded same date], between the above-named Thomas Dischingtoun of Ardros, and his wife, and Mr. William Scott, elder, of Elie, and Mr William Scott, younger, his son and heir, relating to the same lands and barony of Ardros, . . . .

The following persons are named in the course of the writ as creditors or having interest:- Laurence, David, and William Dischingtoun, brothers-german [full brothers] of the granter, and Agnes Euphame, and Elspeth Dischingtoun, his sisters-german [full sisters]; Stevin Dudingstoun of Sandford, in reference to the lands of Sandfurd; and Barbara Sandylands, Lady Ardros, mother of Thomas Dischingtoun. She is erroneously designed Margaret in No. 1.
