Thomas J. Downey, a well known resident and pioneer of Noble township, died this morning about 6:30 o'clock at his home in this city, 222 West First street, with death resulting from complications due to failing health of the past two years. The deceased was the last of a family of children, whose parents were Mr. and Mrs. William H. Downey, had spent most of his life on his farm in Noble township, and in recent years had maintained a residence in Rushville, living here during the winter and on his farm in the summer. He was 70 years of age. Surviving him is his widow, and one daughter, Stella, wife of Dr. Ernest Cofield of Indianapolis, and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be held Monday morning at 10:50 o'clock at the late residence, 222 West First street. Rev.
