About Thomas Downing

Thomas Downing was the 2nd of 12 children of Richard Downing and Mary Edge. He was born on the 13th of the 10th month of the year 1743 in Uwchlan Twp., in Chester County, Pennsylvania during the development of Colonial America.

As did numerous persons during this time, Thomas as well as several of his siblings perished due to Small Pox, for which at that time was no treatment. Thomas, Hannah and Jane all died within days of each other. It is believed all the small children (who died young) of Mary and Richard are buried here.

Thomas was 8 1/2 when he died.
