About Thomas Estep, Sr.
From Hanson Genealogy Record, 1988:
THOMAS ESTEP, SR., owned "Valleys and Hills, Tom and Wills" in Frederick Co, Md. Born before 1713, took oath in court in 1734 (A.A. Co. 9-127). Died abt 1772, he is on 1772 tax list and not later - Thomas, Jr. sold his land in 1772. Thomas Estep, Sr. is possibly son of Immigrant Richard or Joseph, is more probably a grandson of the immigrant, Richard Estep. Thomas probably had a brother, William, with whom he owned the land, "Toms and Wills, Valleys and Hills". Before this, Thomas owned "Chinkapin Forest"(which was purchased in 1746 for 3600 pounds of tabacco, according to Scott Filly, San Francisco, California via Genserv Sysyem(fillse1)). There may be other children of this family but they have not been found. Thomas Estep, Jr. and Shadrach Estep moved to North Carolina as given. William is the William of Frederick Co, Md. and Huntington Co, Va. John is probably the John who took the oath of allegiance in North Carolina. Mary is not found.
