About Thomas Frame

moved the family from Fayette County, PA to Guernsey County, OH around 1810. Soldier in the War of 1812. The Frame family was very active in the Presbyterian Church of Old Washington, OH. The church at 227 Old National Rd is the oldest church building in the county. Although the land on which the first church was built was not deeded until 1816, the log church was built much earlier.

History of Inez Frame Patterson:

Thomas Frame, 1759-1850, married Elizabeth Baird in Fayette County, PA, circa 1786. The Frames and the Bairds, who were neighbors in Fayette Co., were prime examples of those sturdy pioneers of Scotch-Irish stock. There were political, economic and religious developments which persuaded many of our ancestors to emigrate first from Scotland to Ireland in the 1600s and then make the perilous trip across the ocean to the land of opportunity in the arly 1700s. Lowland Scots, most of them staunch Calvinists, emigrated to northern Ireland and then many came to America and were the mainstay of pioneers in western PA.
