Biography

Thomas Graves was born at Charlestown about 1638, son of Thomas Sr. and Katherine Graves. [1] He was both a physician and a Judge to the County Court. [2] Hemarried 1st on May 16, 1677, the widow Elizabeth (Hagbourne/Hackburn) Chickering, widow of Dr. John Chickering. Elizabeth died on July 2, 1679. [1]

After her death, Thomas married 2nd widow Sarah Alcock on May 15, 1682 at Charlestown. [5] [1] Sarah was the daughter of John Stedman, and the widow of first John Bracket, and second, Samuel Alcock. (p. 9379) [6] Hon. Thomas Graves, who was distinguished as a physician and judge died on May 30, 1697. After Thomas' death, his widow Sarah married Colonel John Philips. She died on March 1, 1731 aged eighty seven. He and Sarah had one son, Thomas, born at Charlestown on Sept. 28, 1683; died June 19, 1747 [1]
