About Thomas Happer
This Thomas Happer (1757 - 1834), surgeon, emigrated from Scotland to England (Co Durham) in about the 1790s. Later on, in November 1831, he signed (as did his son, also called Thomas, the physician) the "declarations" by Sunderland doctors about cholera (on the 1st and 12th of that month). See : "Cholera in Sunderland 1831-1832," by S.T. Miller, pp.12-18 of "The Journal of Regional and Local Studies," Vol.3, No.1, Summer 1983, published by the Humberside College of Higher Education.
