Thomas Stebwell Harless married Eleanor Allison, daughter of William Louis Allison and Sarah Kirby, 9 May 1843 in Madison County, Alabama. Thomas Stebwell Harless married Effie May Shay 1868. 

    Thomas Stebwell Harless died 1892 in Collin County, Texas.  He had nine children with his first wife it says and five with his second.

(This is a memorial to Thomas S. Harless who lived near New Hope Cemetery and although his gravestone has not been found it is possible that he is buried here as his oldest son (Chas. T. Harless) by his second marriage is buried here). Thomas was the son of John H. and Catherine (Moser) Harless. He first married Eleanor E. Allison (1820-1866) on 9 May 1843 in Madison Co., AL. Eleanor was the young widow of John Richards. Thomas and Eleanor had several children: Martha E. (married W.P. Lusk), Needham Bryant, John Wesley, Mary E., Viney C., Susan K. (married J.C. Dickey), and Ida (married T. Sullivan). After Eleanor's death Thomas married Emily Caroline Saylor on 26 April 1868 in Madison Co., AL, and they had several children: Mary S., Charles T., Emily C., Martha Malena, and Jesse S. Harless.
