About Thomas Hutchinson

Quaker, Fled persecution in England. message board:

The Hutchinsons were known Quakers while still living in England which probably prompted their leaving England, as Quakers were quite persecuted there. Dorothy(Storr), her father & brothers arrived on the "Welcome" with William Penn in Philadelphia in 1682. William Penn granted Thomas Hutchinson 600 acres near what is now Hopewell, NJ. It is unknown if Dorothy's mother, Dorothy Storr died back in England or on the trip to America.
