T. M. Lester, 74, succumbs Monday after long illness

Funeral services for Thomas Mansfield Lester, 74, who died Monday at 3 a.m. at the West Carroll Hospital after a long illness, were held Tuesday at 2 p.m. at the First Baptist church of Oak Grove. The Revs. N. W. Causey and Walter Haley officiated at the rites with interment following in Oak Grove cemetery under the direction of Kidder-Cox Funeral Home of Oak Grove. Survivors include his widow, Mrs. Ruby Edna Lester, of Oak Grove; three sons, Clyde W. Lester, of Oak Grove, Horace D. Lester, of Houma, and Thomas M. Lester Jr., of Divcon International Superior Oil," South Africa; a daughter, Mrs. Minnie Mae [LENNIE MAY] Cooper, of Shreveport; a sister, Mrs. Nina McVey, of Shreveport; 10 grandchildren; and one greatgrandchild. Pallbearers were Charlie Whitten, A. H. Canoy, T. L. Thames and Troy Robertson.
