Thomas J. Middagh died at his home at Mifflin yesterday morning following a stroke of paralysis sustained while attending the fair at Port Royal on Sept. 13. Mr. Middagh was one of the best knonw horesemen in the state and took a lively interest in horeses and racing events. He was 80 years old. He was welll known to many people in this city, having on numberous occastions attended fairs in the county and races at the Driving park. The funeral will take place at 2 o'clocl on Friday afternoon at Mifflin.

T. Jeff Middagh, one of the best known horsemen in the State and a man who had a larger personal following in Lancaster, died at his hom aged seventy-three years, death resulting from embolism sustained while he was attending the races at Port Royal a week ago. He was conversing with friends at the track when he fell over unconscious. He remained in that condition the greater part of the time until he died. Mr. Middagh was a horseman by business and inclination, and up until within a short time of his final illness held the reins over some of his own horses over the eastern tracks. He often raced in Lancaster, and had a wide circle of friends. He is survived by the following cihldren: Charles S., Mrs. Bessie B. Ward, and Mrs. Mary Stromer. A sister, Mrs. Maggie Sloan, of Pittsburgh, also survives. The deceased was prominent in Masonic circles in his home town.
