Biography

According to family history author Frederick Clifton Peirce, Thomas "Peirce" aka Pierce, son of Thomas "Peirce" and wife Mary (Frye) Peirce was born 3 September 1661, Dorchester, Suffolk, Massachusetts. [1] The problem with this birth date is that according to the Dorchester Vital Records Thomas Peirce and Mary Frye didn't marry until 3 Aug 1661. If Thomas, Jr. was born out of wedlock author Peirce doesn't comment upon it. But, and based upon this date conflict, it's believed that his birth is 21 August 1662 as recorded in the Dorchester Vital Records:

"Thomas Peirce, son of Thomas, born 21 August 1662, Dorchester, Massachusetts. [2] [3] Thomas was baptized 26 October 1662, Dorchester. [4]
On 13 November 1707 Pen Townsend, Esq. married Sarah White at Dorchester to Thomas "Peirse" son of Thomas "Peirce & wife Mary Frye Peirce of Dorchester. [5] [6] Thomas (Thomas, Robert) was born 3 Sep 1661 which makes their marriage more than likely to be second for them both although author Frederick Clifton Peirce records only the 1707 marriage to Sarah White. Based upon F.C. Peirce Sarah and Thomas had 3 children:

Naphthalia, b. 1 Jul 1709, Dorchester [7] ; m. Mary Bird of Dorchester
Zebulon, b. 14 Mar 1710, Dorchester [7] ; d. 19 Sep 1775
Judith, b. 18 Apr 1714, Dorchester [7] ; m. Onisepherous Tileston
His death is recorded in the ledger of the '1st Church of Dorchester' as being 21 October 1730. [8]
