Obituary: Illinois Word of the death of Thomas Polk Pierce was received Friday by his brother-in-law, Frank Waddell of 2040 Broadway. A telegram received announced Mr. Pierce's death in his home in Canon City, Colorado, at 9:36 o'clock Friday morning.

Mr. Waddell left Friday for the West and will bring the remains back to this county for burial. The funeral will probably be held in Camp Point although definite announcement is withheld until word from him is received.

Mr. Pierce will be kindly recalled by many in Adams county. He owned a large farm in the La Prairie neighborhood but went West about 20 years ago because of falling health.

He leaves his surviving his widow, who was Miss. Nora Waddell and two children. Mrs. Grace Walker, living at home and Mrs. R.B. Ketchum of Salt Lake City. He also leaves a brother Lee Pierce, and sister, Miss Anna Pierce, both of Bowen. Nephews and nieces are Pierce Ketchum of Salt Lake City. Ross Pierce of Quincy and Clyde and Elmer Pierce of Columbus. Further word is expected from Mr. Waddell Monday regarding the funeral arrangements.
