Thomas Rayner married Ann Graydon Stonehouse in the Parish Church,Sunderland on 31st August 1856. At the time of the marriage, he was resident in Gray Street. His occupation was recorded as "mariner" and his father is named on the marriage certificate as Thomas Reyner, Agent.
Thomas died in 1860. The 1861 census records his wife as being widowed, in addition to her having a one year old son by Thomas.
