(grandson Charles Varnado, 1926-2010)
Thomas Cebron left home at an early age and went to Texas as a cowpuncher, attended school at Palestine, Texas, taught school in Franklin, Texas and later became a deputy sheriff in Robertson County, Tx. He married in Franklin, Texas. Four children were born there and then he and his family came to Winnsboro, La. He taught school at Ogden, Liddieville, La., at Lone Cherry out of Mangham and at the Harold School three miles from Baskin, La. During this time he attended La. Tech, as it later came to be known. He learned to mix paint and became a painting contractor. He later became a rural letter carrier, then postmaster. He was postmaster for 13 years and hired Charles M. Varnado and John Ward as clerks. He retired in 1934 after the Democrats came into office. He then acquired and operated the Reagan grocery store and the Reagan Shoe Shop. He had Colon cancer and died after a long suffering illness at his home on November 2, 1952. I thought it was bladder cancer but Charlie Voth says it was colon cancer and Charlie was living with him at the time so that must be true. Some seem to think that at one time he had the Reagan family history. We also think that he knew Reagans in Robertson County, Texas when he went there but later found that he did meet and became friends with a John Henninger Reagan of Palestine, Texas as a very young man. Some of the history may have come from John Henninger Reagan. In fact he relates that John Henninger Reagan's grandfather Richard was brother to Thomas Cebron Reagan's Grandfather, John Ragan.

Brother Daniel M. (Marion?) Reagan lives with them. Most likely Daniel Marion, since Daniel Mathis died young.
