Biography ==Thomas Rideout was born in Maugerville, N.B. He and his family moved to Wakefield about 1818. Thomas was a farmer and lived in the Parish of Brighton. In his Last Will and Testament, made 22 May 1846 and probated 22 June 1846, he left lot 59 in what is now the Parish of Brighton to his son, Charles, and lot 60 to his son, James. These two lots fronted on the St. John River at Upper Brighton. His son, Daniel was granted lot 49 directly across the river in the Parish of Simonds and thehouse he built still stands, now vacant (1978).

Thomas Rideout is the son of Nicholas Rideout and Sarah Oliver, he was united in marriage to Hannah (Garrison) Lunt on 19 Jun 1795 in Maugerville,Sunbury Co.,N.B..Born 16 Jul 1765 in Newbury, Essex Co.,MA. and died 1843 in Penobscot, Hancock Co.,ME. They settled in Carleton Co. first and then moved to Sunbury Co. and they had ten children born unto them:
