Thomas appears to have had three wives. By the first, Alice Moreton, he had one son, Randoll [3]. He was already married to his second, Elizabeth Hall Barker, by 1561 [4]. His widow, named in 1577, was Eleanor, and was likely the mother of the son James named in his Will below.

Will was proved July 11, 1577. "Thomas Rode of Odd rode, 1577. (Will.) March 5, 9 Elizabeth [1576]. The Will of Thomas Rode of Odde rode, in the county of Chester, Esquire. To be buried "at Astbury in the old Chancell where my auncestors lye." He mentions, "my eldest son Rondulfe" and "Thomas Rode his son," "my son Jamyes Rode," "my wife Helenor Rode." "My wife and Robert Brynkhyll, gent., to be executors."Proved, July 11, 1577.[5]
