Was at his fathers will in 1849 a merchant in Jersey. It seems likely that he (or Benjamin) was partner together with his brother Clare from 1844, in the London company Benjamin Sewell & Sons. In 1865 the company was named Sewell Bros & Co, but according to Edmund Timothy Sewell theres no records telling if Thomas was the partner..
