

Thomas was the son of Elizabeth (Eisan) and Thomas Stoddard. He was born at Clam Harbour. He married Minnie Lantz at Halifax in 1883.
Thomas graduated from the University of Michigan Medical School at Ann Arbor in 1886. He was a member of the American College of Surgeons and recognized in obstetrics and gynecology. After his graduation in 1886 he practiced in Halifax until moving to Pueblo, CO in 1892. He is the author of a book entitled "The Quest", a copy of which is in the Colorado State Library. He was a captain in the Army Medical Corp, he entered the service on March 1, 1918 and was discharged Dec. 19, 1918.
