Listed as "mulatto" in the Federal Census.
Some of these SWEAT changed their spellings as generations progressed.
In the 1870 Federal Census, Thomas was a Shoe Maker. He was the son of William SWEAT born 1777 in Saint Peter's District, Beaufort District, South Carolina; died 1855 in Georgia. His mother is currently unknown.
