About Thomas Kaanaana Tilton
This is one of the two uncles, full biological brothers of grandpa Frank Palaika Tilton, II... who guided and nurtured my dad with regard to who daddy was as a Kanaka Maoli, Hawaiian. The other one was Big Johnny... John Leander Tilton, I. They filled in where Palaika could/did...not...in the instruction of Kini, my daddy.
Is the ohana way all over the world, right? Right.
See page 308 of the Ku'e Petition. Like Palaika, Grand Uncle Thomas Kaanaana Tilton, I ... signed his name on this grand petition...minus his first and last western names...to avoid discovery. He also did so on the island of Molokai where he would not be expected... to be?! Hmnnn...
For more details, see grandpa Palaika's page. Lptm

A death certificate filled out by this grand uncle of mine asserts that while Frank Palaika Tilton, II....my grandfather claimed to be son of Ekekela......we all were told in whispers that she was his dynastic, Kingdom of Hawaii mother and he had a second original, own true, biological mother who was La'a.
Lo and behold....the death certificate says that Frank Palaika Tilton, II's mother was La'a. Who filled out and signed the certificat at grandpa's death? This younger brother, Thomas. Hmnnnnn....

Summing this page:
1. Frank Palaika Tilton, Thomas Ka'ana'ana Tilton, and John Leander Tilton... were three biological sons of Lalio/Lalionui with wife #2, La'a.... three who lived into adulthood. According to a document passed down by one of these three brother's descendant, Lalio functioned privately as ali'i nui for a period of time....after which the nui was dropped and he became just Lalio. Lptm.
2. Palaika was moved over to be also the dynastic son of Lalio with Ekekela, with the death of Lalio's biologica son (Lalaika) with Ekekela. Research is ongoing to find a document to corroborate this oral family historical tidbit. Lptm
3. Palaika might have NOT been...the one-and-only husband of Ana/Anna Alana Achong,..... but the 2nd/ third/or even...fourth mate/husband of grandma Ana/Anna Alana Achong, who was a highly-prized descendant of the ali'i and valued as a possible wife for males of the kanaka maoli culture, to give forth keiki of higher mana, thereof. However, he was the one-and-only American palapala-recognized mate.... of grandma Alana. Lptm.
Yes, highly-prized wahine were desired by many males, and the kahuna sanctioned one marriage/mating after the other to allow God Almigty to send keiki to several descending lines ....and then bind those lines..... closer together as a nation/ohana/state.... as the shared keiki of several ali'i lines....in Alana's case....in four lines... with four different mates.
Is this Absolute Truth.? No, nothing is absolute truth where man, culture, beliefs, practices, and government are concerned. Only God knows Absolute Truth.
This is Oral Family History, from deceased kupuna. We investigate to see what documents may exist that might, just might,..... lend more light to these genealogical assertions. Lptm
Thank goodness, God Almighty is a Merciful and Good God. We humans need all the love from Him we can get.
Thomas was married to Martina Momoa Tilton who is also buried at Laie Cemetery.* Reference: Find A Grave Memorial - SmartCopy: Feb 24 2020, 9:45:15 UTC
