About Thomas Tryon, Sr.
Biography
Thomas Tryon was born on 7 May 1708 at Middletown, Middlesex County, Connecticut.[1] Thomas married first, Mary Andrus or Andrews on December 20, 1733 in Middletown,[2] and after her death Rachel Hammond.[3][4] He died on 24 July 1804 at Middletown, Middlesex County, Connecticut.[5]

The Seventeenth day of May Anno Domini Eighteen Hundred and two I Thomas Tryon of Middletown in the County of Middlesex the State of Connecticut in Amarica Being at present of Sound Disposing mind & memory thru the goodness of God & thinking it to be my duty to Set my house in order & to dispose of the Temperal Interest that God has Blessed me with in this world in the following manner & form I do Ordain & make this my last Will & Testament & do in the first place Will my Spirit to God that gave it through Jesus Christ my only Lord & Saviour & after My Deth my Body to a desent & Christian burial & after first debts & Funeral Charges are paid out of my Estate my will is that my Gran[d]son Josiah Tryon & Jesse Tryon have six rods wide runing down from the Highway to the meadow of the North end of my lott next to Timothy Johnsons meadow & the meadow East to the mill Brook south to the Highway west to where the fence now stans Josiah to have two thirds & Jesse one third I give each of my Daughters Twentisix pound [%C2%A326] with what they have already had if any of them have had More they are to have so much less of what is left — my Will is that my wife Rachel have one third part of my house where she shall choose & one third part of my Estate which I have not Willed away to improve During her life — & out of my undivided Estate I give to the heirs of my son Abel Dec’d eight pounds and to my son John I give twelve pounds & to the rest of any Estate to be divided Equally between the heirs of Abel Dec’d & John & my Daughters & the heirs of such of them as are Dec’d. I hereby Nominate Constitute & appoint my son[-in-law?] Abijah Cornwell and my Gran[d]son Josiah Tryon my sole Executors to this my last will & Testament hereby ratifying allowing & confirming this & no other to be my Last Will & Testament in witness whereof I have here unto set my hand & seal this dave [a]bove written.
