About Thomas George Watson
MR T.G. WATSON. The death occurred this morning of a very old and highly respected resident of Masterton, in the person of Mr Thomas George Watson. The deceased had been ill for several months past, and his death was not unexpected. He was about 68 years of age, and was the first white child christened in New Zealand by the late Bishop Selwyn. He was a Maori war veteran. For a considerable time he was in the employ of Mr E. Hale and Messrs Pinhey Bros., of Masterton. The deceased was of a genial disposition and was very popular. A widow is left to mourn her loss. The funeral will take place on Friday, leaving his late residence, Wrigley Street, at 10.15 a.m. for the Masterton cemetery.
