About Thomas West, Jr.
According to an online Google book, "Art As Evidence: Writings on Art and Material Culture," by Jules David Prown, on page 129, which refers to Benjamin West's Family Picture, it states that at the time of Thomas West's marriage to Mary Dean in London in 1709, he was recorded as of Wapping, Stepney, County of Middlesex, and was working as a cooper, and was the son of Thomas West, late of Long Crendon, who was a grazier. In Pennsylvania, Thomas West settled on a small parcel of land in Concord, had seven children, and in about 1736 moved with his family to Willington (later Wilmington, Delaware).
