About Thomas White
Died of smallpox after returning from trying to find his son lost in the French & Indian War.
Thomas White was a farmer and had a large farm, part being in Weymouth and part in Braintree. He was one of a few slave holders in Weymouth, having on May 5th, 1749, bought of his wife's father, John Loring of Hull, one negro girl called Dinah, aged 22 years, for two pounds. This deed of sale is a curiosity in its way.
