About Timothy Turnit Buckland
brief biography
Timothy Buckland was also called Turit, Turnip, Turnippa but bear in mind that gorgios had difficulty in hearing the dialect of the gypsy clans and so many misspellings. There were possibly 3 Timothy Bucklands living at the same time as each other with their working areas overlapping. 2nd names served to distinguish one from the other.
Timothy referred to himself as a Tinman. He frequently gave or was recorded as having differing ages throughout his life. Regardless of this he was a virilant man and fathered four children when he married a girl younger than some of his own daughters. This Young woman was never a gypsy and the marriage home was bricks and mortar.
I do not understand the secrecy of his family. He is my 2nd GGF His first wife bore him at least ten children prior to her death then he married a young girl a few years younger than my great grandmother, one of his numerous children by Penelope his first wife and by his second very young wife Emma he had another four children
