Thomas John "Tom" Thompson (1877 - 1917) was a Canadian painter famous for his landscape paintings. He was an inspiration for the Group of Seven. Much has been written about Thompson's life and his death Thompson died under mysterious circumstances on Canoe Lake in Algonquin Park.
The wilderness of Ontario was a big inspiration for Thompson. His paintings "The West Wind" (1917) and "Jack Pine" (1916-1917) are Canadian icons. So much has been written about Tom Thompson. Please see the links below to learn more about him.
