Tommie, Sr. was the son of William Billy and Lucinda Revels Lowrey. He married Sallie Ann Dial on Apr. 11, 1912 in Lumberton, NC.
The following was taken from the Jul. 10, 1961 edition of THE ROBESONIAN:
Tommy Lowry, 74, of route 3, Lumberton, died at 6:30 p.m. Friday in Southeastern General hospital after an illness of six months.
The funeral was conducted at 3 p.m. Sunday in Mr. Olive Baptist church by Rev. T. M. Swett, assisted by Rev. Gene Hall. Burial was in the church cemetery.
Surviving are the widow, Mrs. Sallie Ann Dial Lowry; four daughters, Mrs. Betty Dial, Mrs. Cerocia Revels, Mrs. Margaret Dial and Miss Hettie Lowry of route 3, Lumberton; two foster sons, Travis Lowry of New Brunswick, N. J., and Harry Lowry of route 3, Lumberton; five grandchildren; six great grandchildren; two brothers, Frank Lowry of route 1, St. Pauls, and Dock Lowry of route 3, Lumberton; and a sister, Mrs. Ida Scott Locklear of route 4, Lumberton.
Pallbearers were Dock Locklear, Plummber Locklear, Frank Locklear, Prather Locklear, Asbury Locklear, Worth Sampson.
Honorary pallbearers were W. D. Locklear, Loy Locklear, Lloyd Lowry, George Locklear, Ambrose Locklear, Stinson Revels, L. J. Bell.
In charge of flowers were Mmes. Rosa Carter, Worth Sampson, Stinson Revels, Riley Locklear, Willie Chavis, Annie Mae Sampson, Prentis Lowry, Lloyd Hunt. Misses Eula Locklar, Fannie Mae Locklear.
