Obituary – TRUMAN PHELPS

Truman Phelps of Dayton Township passed away at his home Monday, Dec. 4th after a long illness. He was born May 8, 1872 on the farm where he has always lived. He was the son of Leroy and Margaret Phelps. The last member of their family for ten years.

He was a lover of home where held several offices of his township and served 12 years on his school board. He was united in marriage to Lottie Lumley Nov. 25, 1903. He leaves to mourn his loss his wife and three children; Mrs. Alma Wingert of Kingston, Miss Mildred Phelps at home, Lawrence Phelps of Rochester and seven grandchildren. Two children preceded him in death, Arthur and Sylvia.

Funeral services were held at his home Thursday, Dec. 7, Rev. B. F. Didler officiating with burial being made in Dayton cemetery near his home.
