Triphena was baptised on 21 June 1730, at the West Hartford Congregational Church, in West Hartford, Connecticut. She was the daughter of Ebenezer Smith (1702-1762) and Zerviah (Unknown) Smith (abt.1706-). [1]

Tryphena married Nehemiah Hopkins (1730-abt.1814) about 1752.
