About Tyler James Bessette

Brewer—Tyler James Bessette, 27, died unexpectedly at his home in Tempe, Arizona, on September 27, 2019. He was born November 23, 1991, in Blue Hill, the son of Raymond and Vicki (Wood) Bessette.

Tyler went to school in Brewer, and graduated from Brewer High School, Class of 2010. Following graduation Tyler attended college at the University of New England prior to joining the United States Air Force, where he served four years at Mountain Home A.F.B. in Idaho. Tyler received the “Air Force Achievement Medal” for meritorious service in June of 2014. While growing up Tyler enjoyed motorcycling, competitive sports, reading and gaming. As an adult he was a great fan of World Cup soccer, Formula 1 racing and snowboarding trips with friends. Tyler placed importance on relationships with friends and family. He was a great story teller and his expression could draw you into his excitement. Kindness and quick wit were the cornerstones of his personality.

Tyler was predeceased by his maternal grandmother Constance Wood of Machias. He is survived by mother Vicki Bessette of Westbrook; father Raymond Bessette and wife Melissa of Brewer; brother Raymond Bessette and his wife Leah of New Jersey; maternal grandfather Gleason Wood of Machias; stepbrother Cameron Coutts of Brewer; stepsister Mackenzie (Coutts) Ireland of Orrington; numerous aunts, uncles and cousins.

Tyler had a strong love of animals and volunteered at several shelters throughout the years. Honoring this, in lieu of flowers, his family requests that donations be made to the Bangor Humane Society, 692 Mt. Hope Ave., Bangor, ME 04401

A celebration of life will be held 3 PM, Sunday, October 20, 2019, at Jeff’s Catering, 15 Littlefield Road, Brewer. All are invited to stay for a reception following the service.
