

Vernie was the son of Thomas R. and Bessie Caseberr of Morris, Texas, MO. He married Anna Fay McKinney.
Vernie Clifford Casebeer, 84, son of Tom and Bessie Rickard Casebeer, was born Jan. 4, 1907, at Dykes. He died Feb. 28, 1991, at the Texas County Memorial Hospital in Houston.
He graduated from Houston High School in 1931 and attended State Teachers College in Springfield.
He married Anna Fay McKinney December 25, 1928. They had one son.
He spent 20 years teaching in rural schools in Texas County. His later years were spent farming.
He was awarded a 50-year plaque in 1985 for teaching the young adult Sunday School class at Fairview.
He was preceded in death by two sisters, Clara Dykes and Pearl Massey.
Surviving are his wife, Fay of the home in the Fairview community; one son, Gayle Courtney Casebeer of Van Buren; five brothers, Edgar Casebeer of Mountain Grove, Gayle Casebeer of Sacramento, Calif., Ned and Carl Casebeer of Houston, and Leo Casebeer of Willow Springs; one sister, Macie Smart of Goose Bay, Ore.; two grandchildren and two great-grandchildren.
Services were March 2 at the Fairview Pentecostal Holiness Church with Rev. Darrell Friend officiating. Burial was in the Dykes Cemetery under the direction of Evans Funeral Home of Houston.
