Vernon Vincent Ritzert

Vernon V. Ritzert, 92, Bismarck, North Dakota, passed away Tuesday, November 1, 2016, at Missouri Slope Lutheran Care Center, Bismarck. There will be no visitation, as cremation has taken place. Services will be held at a later date.

Vernon was born December 9, 1923, at Evansville, Indiana, to Vincent and Elizabeth (Kingston) Ritzert. He was raised and educated in Grand Rapids, Michigan. On April 29, 1949, he married Marva Page in Cedar Springs, Michigan. Vernon worked at Smith Industries building airplanes until his retirement. He enjoyed fishing, playing checkers, and playing cards–especially poker.

He is survived by his wife, Marva; three daughters, Kathy (Jim) Grabinger, Patricia Lindsey, and Michelle Ritzert; and four grandchildren, Zach Grabinger, Neil Grabinger, Vincent Ritzert-Hoogstra, and Anna Lindsey.

Vernon was preceded in death by his parents; sister, Vola Kufner, grandson, Josh Grabinger; and son-in-law, Terry Lindsey.
