The couple honeymooned in Edmonton at the Selkirk Hotel.
Their 25th anniversary was celebrated with a dinner at the home of Tom and Elsie Cookson.
50th Anniversary was marked with an open house and dance at Lougheed Community Hall.
60th Anniversary was celebrated with a family dinner at the Monte Carlo Restaurant in Camrose.

Verona Cookson
COOKSON, Verona Lorene On Wednesday, September 28, 2005 Mrs. Verona Cookson of Lougheed, Alberta passed away at the age of 78 years. She leaves to mourn her passing, her loving husband, Donald; four children, Donna Martin of Sedgewick, Sandra (Bob) Rosiechuk of Lougheed, Wendy (David) Edey of Edmonton, Allan (Nancy) Cookson of Lougheed; her mother, Hazel Bitzer-Hallman of Viking; three brothers, Wayne (Edith) Bitzer of Hardisty, Donald (Carol) Bitzer of Didsbury, Laurel (Betty) Bitzer of Hardisty; fourteen grandchildren; three great-grandchildren; and numerous nieces and nephews. Memorial Eucharist will be celebrated on Sunday, October 2, 2005 at 7:30 p.m. from St. John's Anglican Church in Sedgewick. Funeral Service will be held on Monday, October 3, 2005 at 10:30 a.m. from the Lougheed Community Hall with Reverend Richard Conrad officiating. Cremation will follow.
