About Victoria Kaniokalani Silva
Mrs. Victoria Dorothea Silva, 68, of 4110 Napali Place, died Sunday in Queen’s Hospital. She was born in Waianae.
Mrs. Silva was retired practical nurse of St. Francis Hospital and a well-known entertainer. She was a member of the Hale O Na Alii, the Kaahumanu Society and the Native Sons and Daughters of Hawaii. In 1960, she reigned as queen of the annual Kamehameha Day festivities on Oahu. Friends may call from 6 to 9 pm, Friday and after 7:30 am Saturday at Williams Mortuary. The Rosary will be said at 5:30pm Friday at the mortuary. A Requiem Mass will be celebrated at 9:45am Saturday at St. Partrick’s Church. Entombment will follow in Diamond Head Memorial Park.
Mrs. Silva is survived by five sons, Donald M., Kenneth K., Leonard G. and Patrick Silva and Salvatore K. Jordano; four daughters, Gurdy Machado, Dyanne Purdy, Maraea Gaspar and Lorna Andrade; 24 grandchildren, and five great-grandchildren. ~Honolulu Star-Bulletin, Tuesday, March 22, 1977, C7.
