About Victoria Louise Stadler

Victoria 'Vicky' Louise Stadler (1985 - 2005)

Brief overview:

Vicky (20), went missing on 10th November 2005. Like Jessica Carol Wheeler, who was murdered a month prior, Vicky and her boyfriend, Gabriel du Toit, were also at the Stones Night Club on the night of 10th November. And like Jessica, Vicky also knew the DJ, Heinrich van Rooyen.

Gabriel left the club early, and when Vicky was about to leave, she sent her flatmate a message that she would be home soon. She never arrived.

Van Rooyen later said that he took a lift with Vicky to Hornlee, and that she had masturbated him in the parking area. He then claimed that he walked home. Five days later Vicky's body was found 100 metres into the bushes, in the thorny forest area between Hornlee and the Noetzie River. Her vehicle was found torched.

The post mortem uncovered that Vicky had been murdered the same day as she went missing. She had been allegedly raped and asphyxiated. Her larynx had been crushed, which indicated strangulation.

Heinrich van Rooyen was arrested for the murders of both Vicky and Jessica. He was found guilty on both counts and sentenced to 30 years in jail without parole. He has always maintained his innocence.

"Judge Nathan Erasmus had no doubt of Van Rooyen’s guilt. On the strength of the prosecutor’s eye-witness, Kobus Minnie, and DNA evidence at both crime scenes, he sentenced Van Rooyen to 20 years for indecent assault, life (30 years) for Jessica’s murder, 3 years for defeating the ends of justice, life (30 years) for Victoria’s murder and 5 years for malicious damage to property – the burning of Victoria’s car."
