Funeral srvices for Vinton I. Appelgate, 79, Nevada, were held from the Ryan Funeral home Sept. 7, with the Rev. Robert Link of Albia and the Rev. Donald Gruber officiating.
Pallbearers were Richard Farren, Harvey Jensen, Ivan Jensen, Marvin Jensen, Arthur Stratton and Galen Stratton. Burial was in the Nevada Cemetery.
Mr. Appelgate was born the son of L.D. and Eva L. Applegate on Feb. 24, 1881 in the same house in which he died near Nevada on Sept. 4. (1960)
He is survived by his wife; a son Donald of Nevada and three daughters, Mrs. Fay Purvis of Des Moines, Mrs. Leo Graham of Des Moines and Mrs. Clayton Robinson of Nevada. A son Claude preceded him in death in 1947.
