Biography--

Viola Anderson, 84, of Argyle, Minnesota died Friday, September 7, 2012 at the Good Samaritan Nursing Center, Warren, Minnesota.

Viola was born July 19, 1928 to Charlie and Alice (Hruby) Habedank on a farm near Mavie, Mn. She was the third oldest of seven sisters and three brothers. Viola attended country school near Mavie, Minnesota until the eighth grade, and completed high school in Goodridge, Minnesota. She then went to Thief River Falls, Minnesota where she completed her teacher's training.

On November 26, 1947, Viola married Lester Anderson in Mavie, Minnesota and to this union had three children. Lester passed away on July 25, 1990. Viola taught at several country schools in Thief River Falls, Red Lake Falls, and East Grand Forks, Minnesota. She also worked for the Head Start and migrant program during her 41 year career as a teacher.

Over the years, Viola continued her education and received her Bachelor's Degree from Bemidji State University at the age of 46. Viola's hobbies included family camping, bird watching, star and moon gazing, flowers, gardening, and circle-a-word books. Viola also enjoyed watching sports, and was a life-long Minnesota Twins Fan. She will be remembered as a caring mother, grandmother, great-grandmother, and friend to many. Viola was a member of First Lutheran Church in East Grand Forks.

Viola is survived by her three children, Michael (Brenda) Anderson of Salem, OR, David (Sherrie) Anderson of West Fargo, North Dakota and Lori (Wayne) Gruhot of Argyle, Minnesota along with 6 grandchildren, Hidie (Donavon) Larson, Jay (Lindsay) Anderson, Erik (Brooke) Anderson, Suzie (Marvie) Colby, Daniel (Jessica) Gruhot and Aleah Gruhot; 5 great-grandchildren, Christian Larson, Bree Ann Gruhot, Max, Lilia and Leo Colby; siblings, Goldie (Dennis) Jones of Flint, MI, Pearl Adamson, Freda (Lawrence) Hemmesch, Arvilla (Henry) Hastad and Phyllis Wilhelm, all of Thief River Falls, Minnesota and Gary Habedank, Sandstone, Minnesota.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Lester; parents; four siblings, Kenneth Habedank, Dorothy Mc Laughlin, Claudia Cole and Clifford Habedank.
