Violet Ronald was born on 10 July 1891 to John Ronald and his first wife Jane. She was registered at Te Puke School on 13 July 1896 by her father Mr John Ronald (Te Puke School Records courtesy of Christine Clement, 3 January 2012). Violet married George Edward Bremner (1885-1937) in 1908 (reg.1908/7718). Violet and George Edward Bremner (labourer) appear in the 1928 Electoral Roll living in Fraser Street, Tauranga. Violet died, aged 69, on 29 December 1958 (reg. 1958/32478) in Tauranga. Her death notice reads:
BREMNER, Violet. – On December 29, 1958, at her residence 24 Fraser Street, beloved wife of the late George Edward, and loved mother of Frank, George, Arthur, Edward, Eileen (Mrs McDuff), Hazel (Mrs Curnow), Ruby (Mrs Coker), Edna (Mrs Mills) and Audrey. Service at Jones & Company’s Chapel at 11 a.m. Wednesday, the funeral then leaving for the Tauranga Cemetery. (Bay of Plenty Times, 29 December 1958).
Violet was buried in the Tauranga Anglican Cemetery on the corner of 17th Avenue and Grace Road with George on 31 December 1958. The headstone reads George Edward BREMNER d 20 Nov 1937 45 yrs; also his wife Violet BREMNER d 28 Dec 1958 70 yrs (Row 18, Section 11) (Tauranga Anglican Cemetery Headstones).
