About Violet Halonen
Violet Halonen, age 94, has passed away peacefully at Roseview Manor on Thursday, October 27, 2016. Violet was born in Ardill, Saskatchewan on September 21, 1922 to Bertha and August Otto. She married Foster Mosher on September 21, 1942 and they had 3 children, Barbara, Douglas and Donald. After Foster's passing, January 1979, Violet married Lauri Halonen January 1981. After marrying Lauri they spent the next 20 something years spending the summers at their home at Ishkibibble Beach and winters in Apache Junction, Arizona. Vi was very busy making amethyst trees and petit point. They also had an amethyst mine that kept them out of trouble. Lauri passed away February 2012 just 6 weeks after Vi entered Roseview Manor, when Alzheimer's made it impossible to continue caring for her. Violet was predeceased by all her siblings. She is survived by her daughter Barbara Ryan, Douglas Mosher (Lynda), and Donald Mosher, 13 grandchildren and several great grandchildren. She is also survived by Lauri's children Brad Halonen, Wayne Halonen, Gary Halonen, Bill Halonen and Pamela Halonen plus several grandchildren. Cremation has taken place and she will be buried at Sunset Memorial Gardens with family present.
